BIOLOGY I -- Dr. Dan Flisser

In this course, you'll learn the introductory, yet explicit points of cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, and evolution. In the last third of the semester, the course explores the range of diversity among four of the biological kingdoms: Monera, Protista, Fungi, and Plants. The Animal kingdom is investigated later,
in Biology II.

Whether you are a Health Science or Liberal Arts major, this is a challenging & rewarding course --
Prepare to use 'brain muscles' that you never knew you had !

Lecture sessions explain the primary themes in the study of Life. Emphasis is placed equally on:

  • broad concepts, and
  • attention to detail.
  • Laboratory activities are done in groups, with considerable opportunity for exchange of ideas --
